Midterm Cover Letter

Dear, Ms. Cline

What a semester it has been so far. Although English is not my favorite subject, your class has been fun because of the blogging. I think that is a great idea and have enjoyed doing my own blog. The biggest challenge I had so far with the class is finding the time to read the assigned books. Between work and other classes it is hard to always squeeze in reading time. But I have learned not to complain because I know there are many more people who too have jobs and can juggle school in the mix. My biggest success in the class has probably got to be Essay #2. I am not a big writer and I myself was proud of that paper regardless of what grade I receive. But an A+ would be nice. Hint, hint!
Reading in this class has surprisingly not been too strenuous, although I have found some of the literature very hard to understand, as far as some of the poems and such.
My goals for the second half of the semester is to make sure that I keep turning assignments in on time and that I can find time to read for the last writing assignment. I hope to improve my knowledge on more MLA formatting. A lot of the time I have to keep looking up the formatting for citing and sources. I would like to eventually just know. I think it would make finishing out my associates in business more easily having that knowledge.

Sincerely,
Joe Rossi

  1. I like your added humor it makes it personable. I'm with you on the A idea though. I also found it hard to make time to read and to write out these essays. I take only two classes right now, work and have a family to look after and I can't say I am giving five minutes of peace and quiet to think, let alone work on my assignments so i know the feeling. That's why I'm here 2 am in class. I'm very grateful for the "no questions asked" free pass, I was hoping not to use it, but things happen. Best of luck succeeding with your goals.

  2. This letter is great! I am also glad that we get to blog for this class, definitely makes it seem more fun and not so much "work". This has been a great and a challenging class. I love to read but sometimes have a hard time picking up on terms and language used in older books. Good luck on the rest of the year! Stick in there!

  3. Dear Joe,
It's great that you are proud of your essay # 1! I also found it to be a difficult task. I also agree that some of the reading has been difficult to understand. I also work and have a family so I feel your pain about making time to read. I have three classes and I think I have had the least amount of reading assignments in this class! Any way, this was a very nice letter! I enjoyed your suggestion for an A; sometimes you can't get what you don't ask for :)
    Respectfully,
    Rebekah

  4. Thats a good idea to hint about your grade. If it works, let me know! I also find MLA formatting difficult and hope to improve on that also as time goes on. Finding the time to read is also a challenge I understand. Good luck the rest of the semester.
